Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you at the top centre of the Rialto Bridge at 1130h (11:30am), from where you will start your walking tour.

Leave the hordes of tourists behind and discover the Venice of your dreams as you navigate a fascinating labyrinth of narrow alleyways punctuated by delicate bridges and enchanting canals.

Explore the lively and colourful market area of the Rialto and learn of the legend of the hunchback of San Giacomo. Pass by the old locandas, where the merchants would sojourn and encounter the famous Venetian courtesans in the old red light district of Venice, that is home to the notorious "Ponte delle Tette".

Enjoy a guided walk through a labyrinth of streets and narrow passageways in the old artisans quarters of Venice and listen to numerous stories of the illustrious merchants and their acts of cruelty. During this walk, you'll see some of the oldest houses in Venice, quaint picturesque bridges and palaces, an old prison for tax evaders and learn about how life used to be in Venice and how life is today for the modern day Venetians.

Visit the important Frari Church, hidden away in the San Polo district of the city, home to masterpieces of Titian & Bellini as well as an imposing funeral monument by Canova. The most important church in Venice after the Basilica of San Marco.

The tour ends at the Frari Church at around 1330h (1:30pm).

THE TOUR WAS EASY TO BOOK, MEETING PLAICE WAS EASY TO FIND (EVEN FOR SOMEONE WITH NO SENSE OF DIRECTION AND NO KNOWLAGE OF VENICE) AND GUIDE WAS PLEASENT,FRIENDLY,FUNNY, BUT ABOVE ALL VERY KNOWLAGABLE ABOUT THE AREA SHE SHOWED US. HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS TOUR.

We had already spent two days in Venice, but the tour took us to areas we hadn't seen and taught us a lot along the way. The walking was easy and although we didn't cover a huge area we learnt lots of history and saw some very interesting parts of this amazing city. Our guide had an excellent knowledge of the city and it's development, and was highly qualified in art history too so shared this knowledge when we looked at the religious art found within the lovely Frari Church. Her English was excellent. She was helpful in guiding us back towards our hotel after the tour.

We were met promptly at the Rialto Bridge by Georgia and warmly greeted by Sabrina, our tour guide. In two fascinating hours Sabrina enthused our group of 13 with facts and stats about her beloved city in an engaging, thought-provoking but most importantly, fun way! She brought the Grand Canal to life with stories of when it was populated by merchants and their families. We heard of how precious water was to the early Venetians and how poisoning of the well system resulted in the death penalty. Also how, as a major port, the oldest profession in the world flourished and how it was run as a business for gentleman visitors... We ended with a tour of the Frari Church where Sabrina brought three of the masterpieces to life by her descriptions. Sabrina was an excellent guide and we really enjoyed our time with her.
