This private tour starts from Tronchetto, Venice at 0900h (09:00am). You will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by a guide.
Your first stop of the day is Verona. On a two and a half hour walking tour of the city, you'll quickly understand that this city is much more than the famous Roman amphitheatre and the ill-fated love affair of Romeo and Juliet. Starting with the Romans conquering Verona, and ending with its contemporary history, the different ages of the city are visible through all the various monuments scattered around its historical centre.
Leaving Verona the tour travels into the mountains. A stop will be made in a charming village where your guide will recommend a traditional restaurant where you can enjoy a lunch of local delicacies.
In the afternoon, drive through the glorious countryside of the Valpolicella wine region, crossing the series of hills, that make up the celebrated wine growing area of the Valpolicella. You will visit a celebrated vineyard in the Valpolicella wine region where you'll tour the vineyard facilities to thoroughly understand the unique methods of making the famous Amarone wine that date back to the times of the Romans. At the end of the day you will have a full wine tasting session with a local English-speaking sommelier.
After your wine tasting session return to Venice. You be dropped off at Tronchetto at around 1800h (6:00pm).
