Meet your tour at the bronze statue of a man (Carlo Goldoni) in Campo S. Bortolomio, near the San Marco side of the Rialto Bridge. Explore the winding streets of Venice, stroll over its tiny bridges and enjoy scenic views while your guide tells you all about the culture and history of Venice.
Visit Marco Polo’s house, the famed Venetian merchant traveller of the 13th century. Hear about his wanderlust tales and enjoy a slice of history during your sightseeing tour. Amble through quaint piazzas and marvel at Renaissance architecture. Enjoy a tour of the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Square, and visit St. Mark’s Basilica with a skip-the-line access. Beat the crowds and visit this cathedral which happens to be a popular Venice attraction. Climb up to the first floor terraces, rarely included on other tours, for a perfect bird’s-eye view over the square.
Your next stop is the Doge’s Palace where you will visit areas which are open to the public. Enjoy an authentic Venetian lunch during the break and meet your guide for the second leg of the tour at the statue of a man (Vittorio Emanuele II) on a horse in Riva degli Schiavoni (San Zaccaria vaporetto stop), in front of the lagoon.
Cross the lagoon in a water taxi and visit the picturesque islands of Murano and Burano. The first stop is Murano, known for its tradition of glassmaking, where you will see glassblowers in action. The next stop would be the fishing island of Burano with its brightly coloured houses and its tradition of lace-making. Watch the centuries-old vocation of lace-making by women who have been sewing lace for generations.
