Beautiful mosaics at Torcello’s cathedral, Santa Maria Assunta, add to the beauty of this Byzantine structure.

    Itinerary

The tour departs from Saint Mark’s Square, by the Prisons’ Palace from where you will be taken to board a Gran Turismo motor boat.

Set off across the Venetian Lagoon and take in panoramic views from the water. After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the public Gardens, the tip of Sant'Elena and the Lido (the famous beach resort), the boat arrives at Murano, the most famous and most visited Venetian island for the exquisite glasswork produced here. Disembark from the boat and explore Murano with your guide. You will also take a tour of the Murano glass factory where you can see master craftsmen at work, creating beautiful pieces of glassware.

Proceed to the island of Burano, which is famous for its lace industry. This pretty fishing village has many streets and canals lined with bright, pastel-coloured houses. Dating back to the 16th century, Burano has much to offer. See high quality lacework on display, explore its local shops and displays and admire Burano’s vibrant settlements.

Visit the delightful island of Torcello, home to Venice’s first cathedral. The cathedral, Santa Fosca, is a masterpiece with its mosaics and Byzantine structure. Established between the 5th and 6th centuries, Torcello boasts ornate palaces and churches including the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.

After your tour, re-board the motor launch to cross the lagoon back to Venice. The tour ends at the original starting point. Note: The tour includes the service of a tour leader who provides some information on board the boat and assistance on the islands.
